Mr. Dong Fangjun currently serves as Chairman of Huiquan International Investment Group, Vice Chairman of Shandong Hualian Mining Holdings Co., Ltd, and Vice Chairman of the Beijing Disabled Persons Welfare Foundation. Mr. Dong received his doctorate in economics and conducted his post-doctorate studies in industrial economics.
Mr. Dong is very active in a wide range of philanthropic activities. In 2007, he established "Huiquan Student Grant", donated a library, provided assistance to dropout students and students from poverty-stricken families, and helped build a country road for local people. Since the devastating Wenchuan earthquake, Mr. Dong has played an active role in several disaster relief efforts. He provided financial and material aid worth almost CNY 40 million to disaster-affiliated areas in the aftermath of the Wenchuan earthquake, July 21, 2012 Beijing flash flood, and Yaan earthquake. In October 2013, Mr. Dong joined forces with Chinese-Austrailian entrepreneur Wei Jicheng to launch the Sounds of Nature Train in Shandong provinces old revolutionary areas. The activity distributed CNY 17 million worth of hearing aids, winter clothing, reading galsses and other urgently needed items to thousands of people. The project provided assistance to nearly one thousand hearing-impaired children, and five thousand seniors or individuals in need. Currently, Mr. Dong is working on getting compensation for veterans of the Anti-Japanese War and Jinmen Campaign, as well as commemoration and proper burials for the fallen soldiers.
